Forest City Adds New E85 Outlet for Iowa Consumers
85 Iowa Stations Offer E85
JOHNSTON, IA – The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) today welcomed another member to the growing family of E85 retailers across the state of Iowa. With a new E85 station in Forest City, Iowa has 85 stations offering E85. This is the first E85 pump in Forest City. The new station is:
Cenex Pump 24
306 Hwy 69 N
Forest City, IA 50436
“With no relief in site from high gasoline prices, the demand for E85 is jumping,” said Monte Shaw, IRFA Executive Director. “Increasing flexible-fuel vehicle (FFV) sales combined with enhanced state infrastructure grants are leading more fuel retailers to add E85. We expect the E85 market to continue to grow as Iowans look for alternatives to expensive, imported gasoline.”
E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline and can be used in flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) designed to burn the alternative fuel. A complete list of Iowa’s E85 fueling stations can be found at: www.IowaRFA.org/ethanol_e85refueling.php. A list of FFVs can be found at: www.iowarfa.org/ethanol_e85refueling.php.
Retailers interested in installing an E85 or biodiesel pumps can receive a grant from the Iowa Department of Economic Development. Information and a grant application may be found at: www.iowalifechanging.com/business/renewablefuels.html.
The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s ethanol and biodiesel producers. The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.
