Run on Down to the Kum & Go in
Urbandale and Get E85 for 85 Cents
JOHNSTON, IA – The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association(IRFA) and Iowa Corn congratulate Kum & Go for opening their new renewable fuels station in Urbandale, IA. The grand opening will take place on Friday, April 23rd, between 11 am-1 pm.
The station is located at 6990 Douglas Ave. The grand opening, co-sponsored by IRFA and Iowa Corn, will feature E85 for only 85 cents per gallon. In addition, KXNO will be broadcasting live from the event.
“We’re excited that Kum & Go has become the state’s leader in offering renewable fuels to Iowa motorists,” said Lucy Norton, IRFA Managing Director. “This is the 29th E85 station in Iowa for Kum & Go, bringing the state’s total to 133 locations where drivers can currently save over 90 cents per gallon on E85 compared to straight gasoline made from imported oil.”
“E85 is an environmentally-friendly fuel that burns cleaner than gasoline and is produced locally making the addition of these stations not only good for the environment but the Iowa economy as well. We look forward to continuing to work with Kum & Go as they open more E85 stations across the state later this year,” said Carrie Dodds, Manager of Market Development for Iowa Corn.
This Kum & Go location is one of many stations to take advantage of the Renewable Fuels Promotional Assistance Program sponsored by Iowa Corn, the IRFA and the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA). Through the Program, Iowa Corn and IRFA will partner with retailers to promote grand openings for E85 and ethanol blender dispensers and Iowa Soybean and IRFA will partner with retailers to promote grand openings for biodiesel dispensers.
To take advantage of this program, retailers are encouraged to contact Lucy Norton at 515-252-6249 or lnorton@IowaRFA.org at least 40 days before the planned grand opening to arrange promotional assistance.
