Bratney Companies Offers Crude Corn Oil Technology
Des Moines, Iowa – Bratney Companies, the U.S. partner of CIMBRIA SKET, provider of biodiesel production technology featuring the CD transesterification process, announces the availability of a new bolt-on pretreatment process for crude corn oil.
“With CIMBRIA SKET’s crude corn oil pretreatment technology, we can help biodiesel plants incorporate a lower cost feedstock alternative to other vegetable oils,” stated Paul Brown, Bratney Companies Biodiesel Industry Leader. “This process takes crude corn oil recovered post-fermentation from the back end of dry grind ethanol plants and makes it suitable for biodiesel production.”
The CIMBRIA SKET crude corn oil pretreatment technology filters out impurities and produces two end products – refined corn oil and free fatty acids. “This technology is part of CIMBRIA SKET’s commitment to flexible pretreatment systems for biodiesel production,” Brown explained. “Crude corn oil pretreatment represents a potentially lower cost feedstock compared to other alternatives.”
Innovation is a hallmark for Bratney Companies including new technologies for the biofuels industry. “Our partnership with CIMBRIA SKET allows us to bring the most widely used biodiesel production technology to U.S. companies along with new processes such as the crude corn oil refining capability we are introducing now,” Brown observed.
