Manly Terminal, LLC, Iowa Northern Railway Company and Hawkeye Energy Holdings Begin Ethanol Logistics Partnership
Manly, Iowa – Manly Terminal, LLC, Iowa Northern Railway and Hawkeye Energy Holdings announced today the formation of a contractual partnership in ethanol logistics. Hawkeye Energy Holdings will use Manly Terminal to store ethanol and provide additional transportation options from Hawkeye production plants at Iowa Falls and Fairbank and under construction at Menlo and Shell Rock.
“We’re very happy to begin this relationship with Hawkeye Energy Holdings and see that together we can make ethanol distribution and transportation so much easier and cost effective,” said Lee Kiewiet, President of Manly Terminal.
Hawkeye Energy Holdings Director of Transportation and Logistics Byron Stewart said, “Hawkeye is excited about its partnership with Iowa Northern Railway and Manly Terminal. Manly Terminal is an outstanding, state of the art facility, perfectly located to add flexibility and value to our overall customer service dependability.”
About Manly Terminal, LLC and Iowa Northern Railway Company:
Breaking ground in October 2006, Manly Terminal is set to begin full operations in December with over 5 million gallons of liquid storage capacity on a unique 100 acre truck-to-rail storage reload facility. Ethanol produced throughout the Midwest will be trucked and railed to Manly Terminal for consolidation into more efficient unit trains for distribution throughout North America. With dedicated, scheduled unit trains consolidated at Manly Terminal, producers will realize more profitability and greater use of rail car assets. The significant consolidation of commodity volume at Manly Terminal will allow easier trading and arbitrage of ethanol.
Manly Terminal will significantly improve ethanol and biodiesel marketing and distribution services to cities throughout the United States. Iowa Northern Railway, a 165 mile independent short line railroad with multiple rail connections will be the low-cost conduit to connect Manly Terminal with the entire North American Railroad Network.
About Hawkeye Energy Holdings:
