W&H Coop Brings E85 to Eagle Grove
JOHNSTON, Iowa - Jan 23, 2006 - The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) today congratulated W&H Coop on the opening of its E85 fueling pump in Eagle Grove. W&H Coop’s E85 pump, the third they’ve installed, is located at 100 East Broadway.
The Eagle Grove E85 pump began operations on January 13th. W&H Coop also offers E85 at two Ampride stations – 3243 5th Avenue South in Fort Dodge and the junction of Hwys. 3 and 169 in Humboldt. There are 28 E85 stations throughout Iowa.
“With the number of flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) capable of burning E85 growing exponentially on Iowa’s roads, the time is ripe to expand fueling opportunities,” stated Monte Shaw, IRFA Executive Director. “We salute W&H Coop for their commitment to giving consumers the choice of an affordable, clean, home-grown fuel – E85.”
Noting that sales have been “pretty good” at the Fort Dodge E85 pump, W&H Coop General Manager Greg Emick added: “We’re proud to offer a fuel that is grown in Iowa and is biodegradable. It’s time for Iowans to start helping ourselves.”
The IRFA is helping expand E85 and biodiesel access by administering the Iowa Values Fund Infrastructure Program, which provides cost-share forgivable loans to install E85 fueling infrastructure and biodiesel storage facilities. A total of $325,000 has been allocated annually for three years to expand the availability of E85 and biodiesel to Iowans.
