In Keota, County Line Mart (609 East Broadway) recently began offering E85. On May 8 from 8 am to 5 pm, E85 will be priced at 85 cents below the regular price. Food and beverage items will also be available at a discount. The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) will be presenting the station with a $20,000 check from the Iowa Values Fund Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Grant Program to help offset the cost of the installation.

In Fort Dodge, Star Energy (2 North 27th Street) will offer E85 for only 85 cents per gallon on May 10 from 9 am to 3 pm. The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association will also be grilling burgers for customers. Star Energy is one of 15 recipients of an Iowa Values Fund Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Grant to help offset the cost of the installation. Star Energy also offers E85 in Roelyn and Farnhamville. This is Fort Dodge’s second E85 station. The Ampride All-Round at 3243 5th Ave. S. also offers E85.

In Estherville, Riverside Sinclair (102 Central Avenue) will offer E85 to the public for only 85 cents per gallon on Friday, May 12, from 9 am to 3 pm. The Iowa Cattlemen’s will also be barbequing for customers.
Coordinated by the American Lung Association of Iowa, the IRFA works with Iowa Corn, National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition and other groups to increase consumer access and promote consumer awareness of E85. A complete list of Iowa’s E85 fueling stations can be found at: www.iowarfa.org/E85Refueling.php.
“With increasing consumer demand and support from the State, these E85 stations are just the tip of the iceberg,” stated Lucy Norton, IRFA’s Managing Director. “We believe that over the next 3 to 4 years, Iowa consumers will have easy access to E85 from border to border.”
The IRFA is helping expand E85 and biodiesel access by administering the Iowa Values Fund Infrastructure Program, which provides cost-share grants to install E85 fueling infrastructure and biodiesel storage facilities. A total of $325,000 has been allocated annually for three years to expand the availability of E85 and biodiesel to Iowans. The deadline to submit an application for the next approval period is June 15. For an application or further information, contact Lucy Norton at the IRFA office at 515-225-9242 or info@IowaRFA.org.
The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s liquid renewable fuels industry. The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.
