Three New E85 Outlets for Iowa Consumers
47 Iowa Stations Offer E85

JOHNSTON, IA – The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) today announced that Iowa will soon have three more places to fill up with homegrown E85.  With new E85 stations in Lamoni, Hudson, and Pella, Iowa will have 47 stations offering E85.

Kum and Go opened their 5th E85 pump in Iowa on August 18.  Located at 2091 East Main Street in Lamoni, this is Kum and Go’s first E85 pump in southern Iowa.

“Kum and Go has more E85 experience than anyone in Iowa,” stated IRFA’s Executive Director Monte Shaw.  “They’ve got the most locations and sell the most gallons.  I think their decision to put an E85 pump in rural, southern Iowa says a great deal about the demand for E85 across Iowa – both in urban and rural areas.”

East Central Iowa Cooperative, located at 602 Washington Street in Hudson, is holding a grand opening for their E85 pump on August 25th.  From 9 am to 3 pm, E85 will be sold for only 85 cents per gallon.  In addition, the Pork Producers will be providing a free lunch from 11 am to 2 pm.

Two Rivers Coop, located at 109 East South Street in Pella, is holding a grand opening for its E85 pump on August 29th.  Details of the event are pending.

E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline and can be used in flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) designed to burn the alternative fuel.  A complete list of Iowa’s E85 fueling stations can be found at: www.IowaRFA.org/ethanol_e85refueling.php.  A list of FFVs can be found at:  www.IowaRFA.org/ethanol_flex.php.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s liquid renewable fuels industry.  The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.
