New E85 Outlets in Dubuque and Emmetsburg
40 Iowa Stations Now Offer E85
JOHNSTON, IA – The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) today congratulated two fuel retailers for adding E85 to their product mix. Dubuque now has its second E85 outlet while Emmetsburg now has its first E85 retailer. A total of 40 Iowa fueling stations now offer E85 to Iowa consumers.
“E85 sales are at record levels as more retailers make the homegrown product available and consumers look for an alternative to high priced gasoline,” stated IRFA Managing Director Lucy Norton. “With the State of Iowa increasing it’s commitment to E85, we expect the number of stations to continue to growth rapidly. ”
Hometown Convenience offers E85 at its 1303 Main Street location in Emmetsburg. Big 10 Mart, located at 2100 JFK Road in Dubuque, also added E85 to its product mix. Consumers in Dubuque can also purchase E85 at the Kwik Stop Key West Conoco at 2150 Twin Valley Drive.
E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline and can be used in flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) designed to burn the alternative fuel. A complete list of Iowa’s E85 fueling stations can be found at: www.IowaRFA.org/ethanol_e85refueling.php. A list of FFVs can be found at: www.IowaRFA.org/ethanol_flex.php.
Coordinated by the American Lung Association of Iowa, the IRFA works with Iowa Corn Growers Association, National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition and other groups to increase consumer access and promote consumer awareness of E85.
The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s liquid renewable fuels industry. The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.
