New E85 Outlet Near Highway 30 in Clarence
41 Iowa Stations Now Offer E85

JOHNSTON, IA – The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) today congratulated the River Valley Coop Cenex gasoline station, located at 902 Lombard Street in Clarence, for adding E85 to its product mix. Located near Highway 30 roughly halfway between Cedar Rapids and Clinton, this station provides an excellent opportunity for the motoring public to purchase E85. A total of 41 Iowa fueling stations now offer E85 to Iowa consumers.

To celebrate the grand opening of the E85 pump, River Valley Coop will be offering discounted E85 for sale from 3 to 8 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2006. From 5 to 7 pm, the Cedar County Cattlemen will be giving away free hamburgers.

“The interest in E85 remains quite strong,” stated IRFA Executive Director Monte Shaw. “E85 sales are triple the amount last year. More and more retailers are applying for grants to install the pumps. And automakers continue to expand their flexible fuel vehicle offerings. ”

Coordinated by the American Lung Association of Iowa, the IRFA works with Iowa Corn Growers Association, National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition and other groups to increase consumer access and promote consumer awareness of E85.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s liquid renewable fuels industry. The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.
