Green Plains Grain Hosts Three Grand Openings

JOHNSTON, IA – The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) congratulates Green Plains Grain Co., LLC on the opening of three new locations. Flexible fuel vehicle drivers can now find various ethanol blends at 1902 Okoboji Avenue in Milford and various biodiesel and ethanol blends at 603 RR Avenue in Superior and 701 4th Ave W in Spencer.

Enjoy up to 25 gallons per vehicle of E85 for 85 cents, 10 cents off of biodiesel and mid-level ethanol blends and free food at their following grand openings from 11am to 2pm:

                             Superior: May 19th

                             Milford: May 20th

                             Spencer: May 21st

“We are excited to be opening these new E85 and Biodiesel stations in Iowa,” said Todd Becker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. “We believe that E85 fuel is important to our economy and reducing our dependence on foreign oil. Ethanol is a viable home-grown alternative fuel that is clean, economical, operationally proven and available now.”

Assistance for the grand opening is provided through the Renewable Fuels Promotional Assistance Program sponsored by the Iowa Corn Promotion Board, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association and the Iowa Soybean Association.  Through this program, Iowa Corn, IRFA and Iowa Soybean partner with retailers for grand openings for E85 and ethanol blender dispensers and biodiesel dispensers.

To take advantage of this program, retailers are encouraged to contact Lucy Norton at 515-252-6249 or lnorton@IowaRFA.org at least 40 days before the planned grand opening to arrange promotional assistance.

Retailers interested in installing an E85, blender pump or biodiesel pump can apply for a grant from the Iowa Department of Economic Development. Information and a grant application may be found at: www.iowalifechanging.com/business/renewablefuels.html.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s ethanol and biodiesel producers. The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.
