Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Sponsors Biodiesel
to Power WHO Radio’s Crystal Studio at Iowa State Fair
JOHNSTON, IA – The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) today announced its sponsorship of B20 (20% biodiesel blend) to power WHO radio’s Crystal Studio at the Iowa State Fair from August 13-23. Crystal Studio diesel generators have run on clean burning, renewable biodiesel during the Iowa State Fair since 2006.
“IRFA is proud to help continue the biodiesel tradition of WHO radio and the Iowa State Fair,” said Monte Shaw, Executive Director of IRFA. “With the largest farm audience in Iowa, WHO and the Iowa State Fair are the perfect partners to demonstrate the power and performance of Iowa-produced B20. As farmers begin the process of ordering fuel for the harvest, we want to encourage them to buy biodiesel, a clean, reliable alternative for the fall harvest season and beyond.”
In addition, IRFA will be airing “buy biodiesel” radio ads on WHO throughout the fair and IRFA members will conduct on-air interviews to give WHO listeners further information about the many benefits of using biodiesel.
The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association was formed in 2002 to represent the state’s ethanol and biodiesel producers. The trade group fosters the development and growth of the renewable fuels industry in Iowa through education, promotion, legislation and infrastructure development.
